Special Measuring Instructions for Out of Town
Bridesmaids
To Ensure that you receive the size closest to your measurements we require the following 4 items:
Bust: Measure around the fullest part of the bust and back with your bra on. (this is NOT your
bra size)
Waist: Smallest area of your torso. A couple of inches ABOVE your belly button. Pull tape
measure taut. NOTE... this is NOT where you wear your jeans.
Hips: Measure around largest part of your hip and bottom with feet together.
Height: Without shoes. However if you are taller than 5”9” you may need to order extra length,
and there is an extra fee of $25.00 for extra length.
✦ $100.00 is the required down payment to place your order.
✦ Please have a professional seamstress or someone familiar with sewing and measuring take your
measurements.
✦ Please do not take your measurements too tightly! Always measure over your undergarments for
more precise measurements. Please do not give jean or bra sizes.
✦ When in doubt order bigger. You can ALWAYS take a gown in, but most gowns can NOT BE LET
OUT.

We recommend that all bridesmaids choose their size based on their largest measurement. The
Bridesmaid gowns are not made to your bridesmaids measurements, they cut the dress based on the
size chart. The dresses are NOT custom made. For example: If your bust measures into a size 8,
but your waist measurement puts you into a size 12, and your hip measurement puts you into a size
10....You should order a size 12...based on your largest measurement)
✦ Alterations are an extra fee and you may choose any seamstress for your alteration needs.
Formals of Litchfield does not provide a seamstress.
